I’ve owned the car for 26 years (with my dad until he passed away). We made many improvements, primarily to ensure reliability. When we purchased the car, the owner stated that the engine had less than 5K miles on a rebuild, and that he put a ‘fast street cam’ in it. It has original California black plates with matching dealer plate frames. Over the years, our list of work includes electronic ignition, suspension, brakes, wiring harness, wheels, tires, paint, upholstery, alternator, starter, radiator, and many details ensuring everything works. I’ve taken it on many road trips, and it is reliable and so fun to drive. I installed a Retrosound stereo, and all electronic components (switches, lights, etc.) work well. I have the original seats (the 69 headrests had been removed) but installed upgraded leather seats with headrests for safety and comfort. I installed and wired road lights but also have an original Amco bumper guard (with brand decal still on it). I installed an Amco style luggage rack – for sentimental reasons. It has a fairly new top in great condition that’s mostly been in the trunk. It has a tonneau cover that is in great shape as well; no headrest pockets so a little funky but gets the job done. The odometer shows 72K miles. It has approximately 25K miles on the rebuild. I’m selling it because I just finished getting a 59 MGA on the road, and I’m ready to make that my driver. I needed to get that in order before being ok with letting go. The 69 B is a wonderful car, starts and runs beautifully, accelerates smoothly, handles very well (it’s been all over the mountains of Norcal), and is so great to drive. The only time it left me on the road was when the starter went out, on my honeymoon no less 😊. Not sure the A will treat me so well, but it’s been a dream, and I obtained it from the original owner in 2021, so time to give it a shot. I think $15K is fair for this car, and I’m hoping it goes to someone in California who drives the heck out of it and appreciates it’s history. I’m more than happy to host test drives.
